Band Improvement Suggestions

1. Intonation, i.e. playing in tune,  is our biggest area that we can focus on to dramatically improve the quality of our band.  This means that we must open our ears and listen ... and I also use a tuner when I practice.  It is important to listen to other players and compare your sound and pitch to those around you. You must practice at home with a tuner to improve your personal intonation and find out all the quirks of your instrument and adjust so that you will play in tune with yourself!  The more you practice at home "in tune", the better the band will get.

I suggest that you listen carefully to the DVDs of our past concerts.  There are times of wonderful intonation and it is thrilling. Let's strive for that to be our standard.
