1. When did the Laguna Community Concert Band (LCB) form?
The Laguna Community Concert Band (LCB) formed in 1998. See the About section for more information!
2. Is the LCB a college class? Is there a class fee?
YES, LCB is a registered College Class offered through Irvine Valley College. The fee is $30 per semester for the Concert Band, and $30 per semester for the Small Ensemble class (members may participate in multiple small ensembles for the single fee of $30 per semester). Please note that The LCB Board has developed a special scholarship fund to assist members who will find this fee to be an undue hardship.
3. Where and when does the band practice?
The LCB practices at the Laguna Beach High School band room every Tuesday evening from 6pm to 8pm. Subsets of the band including: The Bolling League (small jazz ensemble), Brass Ensemble, “Third Street Strutters” (Dixieland band), Laguna Flutes and the popular SwingSet and Laguna Swing Society meet after the Concert Band’s rehearsal from 8:15 – 9:15 Tuesday. Additional rehearsals and sectionals are often scheduled at members homes at the members convenience.
4. Where and when does the band perform?
The LCB and Small Ensembles perform throughout Laguna Beach and surrounding communities including Huntington Beach, Mission Viejo, San Juan Capistrano, Yorba Linda and Laguna Woods. The LCB and Smaller Ensembles combine for over 20 concerts per year.

6. What kind of music does the band play?
The Concert Band plays a wide variety of music, Pop's Style, from patriotic marches and classics to holiday music, Swing, Jazz, Big Band and Dixieland music are all arranged for the full Concert Band. Smaller subsets of the band have formed providing flexibility and variety for different venues. The small ensembles include: The Bolling League (small jazz ensemble), Brass Quintette, “Third Street Strutters” (Dixieland band), and Laguna Flutes (flute choir) range in size from 4-9 players. There also have two full 18 piece Jazz "Big Bands", SwingSet and Laguna Swing Society each of which performs regularly.
